The tourist information office of the city of Žilina has prepared an exceptional program for you on the occasion of World Theater Day, which will combine the history of the Žilina landmark with the magic of the theater backstage.
The event called "Z Burianka do divadla" will offer something that the eye of an ordinary visitor to the city will not see, already on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 4 p.m. The double program will begin with a climb to the Renaissance Burian Tower, where visitors will learn about its fascinating history and enjoy a panoramic view of Žilina. Subsequently, the group will move to the premises of the City Theater of Žilina. Participants will have a unique opportunity to look behind the scenes, learn more about theater life and thus celebrate a holiday that belongs to all theatergoers and their audience. From the balcony, visitors will be able to watch the ongoing rehearsal for the upcoming Scorpion production, thus gaining a rare insight into how a theater piece is created "live". In addition, we will also have a look at the roof of the theater.
In addition to the opportunity to see the creative process, we have also prepared a special surprise in cooperation with the Žilina Municipal Theater.
The event is suitable for people over 15 years of age.
