Xavier Montsalvatge - Kocúr v čižmách

A children's fairy-tale opera based on the story of Charles Perreault from 1697. This work by the Spanish composer Xavier Montsalvatge was given a fantasy form on the stage of the State Opera, which especially the youngest audiences will enjoy.

Children are interactively drawn into the story told to the abandoned kittens by their foster mother Matilda. This is how Puss in Boots comes to life, and thanks to his cleverness, he marries his master - the poor Miller - with a beautiful princess. The performance features kittens, the cat Matilda, the cheerful Cat, the poor Miller, the gentle Princess with her father - the King, and the treacherous Wizard.

These characters have not lost any of their charm since 1948, when Montsalvatge breathed life into them in the form of beautiful melodies. The performance is in the Slovak language and will surely delight adults and children.
