Wax batik is an ancient technique of painting with wax on textiles, already known from Indonesia, Egypt and Africa. Wax protects parts of the fabric from color and thus creates original patterns full of contrast. The history of batik combines craftsmanship, symbolism and an aesthetic that continues to this day. It gradually evolved from ceremonial fabrics to modern artistic experiments. At the workshop, we will explore together how this traditional technique can be transformed into a contemporary creative context.
