About event
Presentation of work in progress by collective La Turba: Unas pocas turbulencias - A few turbulences
We invite you to the open residential presentation Unas pocas turbulencias by Spanish choreographer and performer Carlota Berzal, who will be working on her new project at the Studio Dance Theater.
Unas pocas turbulencias is a choreographic and vocal research project that, through the body and voice, explores the relationship between folklore, memory and by fear. It is based on personal and collective traditions and questions how inherited gestures, stories and ways of remembering shape our current identity.
The project works with the body, voice, humor, fragility and autobiographical material as tools for exploring how memory is stored in the body and how it is transformed in it.
During the residency, the creative process will focus on the creation of choreographic material, exploring the relationship between movement and voice and developing the initial dramaturgical structure. Part of the research is also contact with the local environment and community, which can enter into the further development of the project.
Work in progress is an open insight into the creative process – not a finished production, but a space in which you can meet the project in its creation.
