In the winter of 1937 the Japanese invasion army committed the cruel massacre of Nanjing, in which over 300,000 innocent civilians committed and Pounded prisoners of war were murdered. This painful chapter is not only part of the collective memory of the Chinese people, but also a common historical wound of all of humanity.
In that dark time, some international friends bravely emerged. The German merchant John Rabe, chairman of the international security zone committee, risked his life to protect tens of thousands of civilians and documented the cruel truth of the Nanjing massacre with diaries and recordings. His selfless action and his testimonies became an important symbol of human conscience and courage.
To deepen the understanding of the international community for the historical facts of the Nanjing massacre and convey the common idea of peace and development, the Chinese cultural center in cooperation with the memorial of the victims of the Nanjing massacre through the Japanese invasion army is organizing the exhibition "World memory and peace vision-the Nanjing massacre in the eyes of John Rabe and other German contemporary witnesses". Using historical documents, image materials and valuable exhibits, the experiences and actions of German contemporary witnesses in Nanjing are shown.
