Jiří Petrbok's exhibition Diary of a Patient focuses on the theme of self-portrait and presents the artist's work from the 1990s to the present day as a continuous record of the changing, constantly questioned "I".
The title of the exhibition does not refer only to illness, but to the wider experience of a person who is exposed to the influence of institutions, social expectations, symbols and his own body. The "patient" here is the one on whom the world presses, but who at the same time keeps his own record so as not to become a mere case. Petrbok's visual diary connects pain, grotesque, humor and anxiety and across decades shows identity as a process — fragile, ambiguous and never definitively closed.
On the same day, from 5:30 p.m., the launch of the catalog for the Patient's Diary exhibition will take place.
