production KRÁL*OVNA
of God Save The Drama Queen,
which you supported in the Donia campaign!
⚜️ ꧁ ༺ 👸 ༻ ꧂ ⚜️
In 1587, the feud between the two queens culminated in the execution of Marie Stuart. Her cousin, Elizabeth I, was left with nothing else. To execute a rival meant to save one's own neck and place in power.
Who are Elizabeth and Marie today? The Queen uses the tragic story of two queens as a starting point to discuss women in power. She asks herself what a woman has to go through, not only to get to power, but also to keep it. It tells a story of rivalry, but also a hidden kinship. It talks about objectification, about systemic coercion and takes the viewer into an absurd election gameshow.
Král*ovna is an author's production that connects theatrical improvisation with other theatrical forms, gives the audience the opportunity to enter the action, bring their own opinion and influence the final form of the production.
