About event
“We are languishing with spiritual thirst...” begins the well-known Pushkin’s “Prophet,” written in 1826, two hundred years ago. This year was a turning point for both Alexander Sergeevich and the entire country. You and I, friends, also live in difficult times, when it is especially important for us to meet, support each other, and for this - to write and read poetry.
We invite everyone who is “languishing with spiritual thirst”, who is interested in how the year 1826 passed for Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin and what he wrote this year, everyone who loves poetry and wants to see and hear Russian-speaking poets now living in Prague, who are ready to read their favorites Pushkin's poems in Russian, Czech or any other languages - to our annual meeting at his monument on the square named after him, in a wonderful green corner of Prague 6.
After the meeting at the monument, we will continue to communicate informally in the nearest cafe.
Welcome:
📅 June 6, Saturday
🕖 from 16:00 to 16:45
📍 Puškinovo náměstí, Prague 6 – Bubeneč
Anyone who wants to perform “at the monument” - please write to the organizers about this as soon as possible so that there is an opportunity to draw up a program in advance.
