LECTURE
On “failure” in collective memory: How
successful families remember their black sheep – e.g. B. the Mendelssohns. Two black sheep among Moses Mendelssohn's descendants: the revolutionary, convict and exile Arnold Mendelssohn (1817 - 1854) and his aunt Brendel / Dorothea Schlegel, née Veit, née Mendelssohn (1764 - 1839) are at the center of the lecture.

SPEAKER:

After studying theology in Fulda and Augsburg, he was an editor at the Berlin “Tagesspiegel” in the features section and in the Berlin section from 1991 to 2018. In 2004 Lackmann was artistic director of the Jewish Cultural Days in Berlin. Since 2018 he has been working as a freelance journalist, exhibition organizer and historian and runs the “Office for Culture/History”.
