Viva Venezia: Xenia Löffler & Batzdorfer Hofkapelle & Claudius Kamp

The works that Antonio Vivaldi, a red-haired priest and violin teacher in the Venetian orphanage Ospedale, composed for his girls' ensemble enjoyed such great interest at the time that the concerts of this mysterious orchestra became legendary and music lovers from all over Europe traveled to see them. This also had a great influence on composers working at the Saxon court in Dresden, whose orchestra also had a reputation as one of the best in Europe.
