Get to know Vienna´ s 12th district - a traditional working class district but fast gentrifying.

Meidling is a traditional working-class district in west Vienna, but fast-gentrifying. Many former factories are converted into co-working spaces and fashion boutiques. The street market is adventurous and lively. The neighbourhood hosts Vienna's most famous club, U4, and is also a major railway hub. And it has hills, unlike East Vienna. Some parts are villagey, but the area has also seen some gang violence. Most bizarrely, an ice cream shop owner was found to have TWO of her ex-partners frozen in the same fridge as the vanilla!
