Miroslav Kormoš's exhibition INERTIA moves in the space between a document and a personal statement about the collective experience of society. The author does not consider the past as a closed chapter, but as something that still seeps into the present. A place stuck in time turns into an image of the broader state of society in the author's photographs. Symbols lose their certainty and the light reveals only as much as is necessary to realize what remains outside the frame.
Part of the project is presented in the exhibition through several installations in which the photograph becomes just one of the layers of the resulting image. Light, sound, movement, material and the way the viewer looks expand the photographic set into space and turn it into a lived experience.
The curator of the exhibition is Vanda Mesiariková.
The exhibition will last until 30 August 2026.

Miroslav Kormoš's exhibition INERTIA unfolds in the space between documentary and a personal reflection on the collective experience of society. The artist does not regard the past as a closed chapter, but as something that continues to seep into the present. In his photographs, places suspended in time become images of a broader social condition. Symbols lose their certainty, while light reveals only as much as is necessary to make us aware of everything that remains beyond the frame.
Part of the project is presented through a series of installations in which photography becomes just one layer of the resulting image. Light, sound, movement, materiality, and the way the viewer looks all extend the photographic series into space, transforming it into a lived experience.
