Vernisáž výstavy Fluktuácie

The opening of the exhibition Fluctuations will take place on August 5 at 18:00.

"Subjective seismograph" Hronský considers observing and listening to all visible and invisible movements fascinating. Therefore, for him, sound means visual and vice versa. He sees in them an inseparable connection, which he demonstrates especially in his drawing. One of its forms is an improvised transcription of heard music. Over time, this developed into a more in-depth transcription of his own field recordings, inspired by the spectrogram notation of sound. Individual shapes often imitate symbols in which Hronský finds visual potential for building typographic systems. At his first ever solo exhibition in Bratislava, one can meet a large-scale implementation of such a system, created directly for TypospoT.

As part of the opening, Richard will play a special set as an extension of his installation. In addition to the live electronic processing of flutes and pipes, field recordings "from the backpack" of the author will also be heard. The resounding sound will be projected in real time through a spectrogram (visual representation of sound).

Richard Hronský is a trans-disciplinary artist who is interested in a wide spectrum from visual art, experimental music, to the collective organization of DIY exhibitions and concerts. He plays the fujara and released the album Pohreb, nominated for the Radio_Head Awards 2025. Richard is an enthusiastic figure on the Bratislava scene - in addition to studying Photography at VŠVU, he regularly performs at home and abroad. In his work, he recontextualizes traditions and thinks about imagination and memory. He draws every day, often illustrates posters and likes to archive.
