Can art move our whole body and mind? The Art of Interaction exhibition focuses on the possibilities of active involvement of the audience in the process of perception, interpretation and creation of works of art since the 1960s. The audience can recognize works of Slovak, Czech and Polish provenance, from the collection of the Bratislava City Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art in Hradec Králové, whose very character is participatory. The presented experiential learning opportunities offer a different way of spending time in the gallery than usual. The purpose of the exhibition is to awaken curiosity, to look for interdisciplinary connections, new connections of the world around us, or to create a space for active sharing of experiences.
🟩 Stred je inde II.
The exhibition will run from 14/05 – 27/09/2026
Curator: Jana Babušiaková
Authors: Klára Kusá, Andrea Uváčiková
Guest authors:
Zbyněk Baladrán, Martina Chudá, Hedwich Rooks, Hiroshi Takizawa
Exhibition The Middle is Else II. deals with traumas as consequences of the functioning of society. The authors Klára Kusá and Andrea Uváčiková critically question the social idea that a deteriorated psychological state is a failure of the individual. They are based on contemporary philosophical texts and personal experience, they use work with text, digital images, video and reused materials. Through the entrances of guest authorship and the invitation of the audience, they purposefully disrupt the traditional hierarchy between the author and the audience.
