We invite you to the opening of the exhibition Ivy Žůr and Lukáš Procházka in the Gallery of Recession, which will take place 14. 2. 2025 from 6 pm.
The set of a little strange pieces is reflected in the position of acting photography in contemporary artistic as well as social context, and asks whether the development of ideas of equality is still objectivization of the female body on the site of art and morally. The project opens the theme to which the act is involved in maintaining the patriarchal power structure, where this approach, often perceived as an aesthetic celebration, may appear to be a tool of inspection and reduction of women to visual objects for the male eye. Can an act of emancipating the celebration of corporeality and individuality or is it inevitably burdened with a stigma of voyerism?
