About event
For the application of gift vouchers purchased until 25. 4. It is necessary to mention the code of the voucher and information on the selected walk: name, date, category of tickets and number of people. Then the participants will welcome the Wallenstein Garden with the wealth of plants and sculptural decoration. The original statues made in the workshop of sculptor Adriaen de Vries were taken from Prague by Swedes at the end of the Thirty Years' War, but when looking at their copies and flower beds in Baroque gardens, it is possible to imagine how the garden looked when it was built by Albrecht of Wallenstein, one of Europe's most powerful men. The personality of this significant, albeit partly controversial personality of European history will be brought closer. Surely the participants will be attracted by the artificial grotto and above all Salla Terrena, which was decorated with its work by Italian artists. The work of Italian builders, stuccoers and painters is also the Wallenstein Palace, today the seat of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. During the walk, it will be possible to look into several representative rooms - the main hall, knight's hall, assumptions, audience hall and mythological corridor. Commentary on the decoration of the interiors of the palace will be provided in the courtyard; In the small interior interpretation for groups is not possible. Even many Praguers do not know it - it is not visible from the street at all. The terraced garden was established in 1715–1720 thanks to the cooperation of architect František Maxmilián Kaňka, sculptor Matthias Bernard Braun and painter Václav Vavřinec Reiner. From Sally Terrena decorated with impressive frescoes, the group will rise up to the statues of ancient deities on the central terrace and then to the very peak, which will offer it one of the most beautiful views of Prague. After the walk, the participants in the garden will be able to stay if they want to enjoy the beautiful prospect longer. 2 hours
