About event
The “Mourning Watch Germany” is a public gathering followed by a funeral march to the Berlin Cathedral, dedicated to the joint remembrance of people who have died as a result of acts of violence since 2015 - in particular through assassinations, attacks or extreme acts of violence.
The event focuses on remembering and would like to symbolically give them a face and a voice. Many of those affected have so far hardly been in the media or social spotlight. Relatives, emergency and rescue workers as well as survivors are given the opportunity to share personal words publicly.
The gathering is intended to provide space for compassion, cohesion and hope. The aim is to pause together, to provide consolation and to set a unifying sign of remembrance.
