Too Many Zooz (usa) / BRATISLAVA

Brass house trio Too Many Zooz is coming to Bratislava on the 1st of July aboard the Pink Whale boat.

Too Many Zooz create manic kinetic instrumental music that combines avant-garde jazz, EDM, punk rock and various other genres into their own signature brand of energetic dance music. Too Many Zooz have become a viral sensation since their inception as street performers in the New York City subway in 2013 and have evolved into a globally recognized phenomenon.

Founded in 2013 in New York City, Too Many Zooz consists of baritone saxophonist Leo "Leo P" Pellegrino, trumpeter Matt "Doe" Muirhead and drummer David "King of Sludge" Parks. Pellegrino and Muirhead first met as students at the Manhattan School of Music, studying jazz. They eventually joined forces with percussionist Parks, with whom Pellegrino played in a separate street band. They began playing live at various New York subway stations and quickly attracted crowds with their aggressive instrumental sound. In 2014, the band's video went viral and helped set the stage for the group's meteoric rise.

In 2016, the trio released their debut album, Subway Gawdz, which featured guest appearances from Kreayshawn, Armani White, members of Galactic and Beats Antique. That same year, they appeared on Beyonce's Lemonade album and performed with Beyonce and The Dixie Chicks at the CMAs.

Over the next few years, Too Many Zooz continued to release EPs and singles – including ZombiEP (2019), a concept album about a fictional band playing at a music festival during a zombie outbreak, plus collaborations and remixes with The Floozies, Beats Antique, Spencer Ludwig, Moon Hooch, Dotom, Nitty Cromwell Scott, Lester London and RoRo.

All this paved the way for the band's second album in 2024, entitled Retail Therapy, and the latest EP Red Apple Gift Shop.
