About event
Would you like to try weaving from both sides? Traditional or unconventional?
Come and try to tighten the warp and allow your hands to weave the weft, as it suits and as they will like.
The course is led by MgA Markéta Loman Vogelová, who returns to us after a long time from Mexico. It will probably also give you a little Mexican sun.
The course is suitable for beginners as well as for those who have already encountered weaving.
Eight meetings once every 14 days.
If you are a beginner, so during these meetings you will learn basic weaving patterns - tapestry techniques. You will create a tapestry that can be folded as a knitting pattern, but also as an original small handbag, wallet, part of a pillow, or as a hanging tapestry. As soon as you have mastered the basics of tapestry weaving, you can start experimenting.
Between individual meetings, it is a good idea to devote some time to weaving at home. However, it is not a necessary prerequisite. Want to be an advanced weaver? Then sign up for the next run of textile courses, which will follow these 4 lessons.
If you are advanced in textile art, you can start experimenting with the help of the lecturer, combining classic materials with less familiar ones. For the lecturer, it will not be an experiment, so she can non-violently guide you or simplify your path to your experiment. There will be tapestries that can be inspired by the art of natural peoples, textile woven masks, textile jewelry... If you let your imagination run wild, you will create a unique home or clothing accessory. In short, wherever your imagination takes you.
Come, I will lead you to the joy of creation.
After these four lessons, we also plan follow-up courses in textile creation, where you will get to know the more demanding techniques of creating tapestry.
Dates:
from 7.10. 2024 17:30-20:30 and then every 14 days until January 27, 2025
CZK 7,000
Includes loan of tools, materials, lecturer's fee. You must have your own frame or borrow it against a deposit. Own material for experiments welcome, not necessary.
