Loes van Schaijk & Honza Bartošek
Dutch-Czech acoustic singer-songwriter duo
Charismatic Dutch-Czech acoustic duo full of humanity with a strong emphasis on rhythm and phrasing, not only vocal harmony and funny and touching lyrics.
Dutch singer and guitarist Loes van Schaijk (read "Lus") and Czech singer and violinist Honza Bartošek is definitely not a typical "girl with a guitar and boy with a violin" duo. Hon's groovy fiddle playing, Loesa's perfect phrasing and their two strong and flexible voices reveal progressive bluegrass, Irish and Scottish folk music, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon and Fleetwood Mac as their main influences. Their original songs have catchy choruses, strong vocal harmonies, witty and touching lyrics, as well as elements that deserve repeated listening.
