This Will Destroy You (USA) : Nu Sound Of...

This summer's post-rock soundtrack – This Will Destroy You in Bratislava

The famous American instrumental post-rock band This Will Destroy You will perform already on August 11 in Bratislava's Randal Club. In the middle of the summer, he will play a rare club concert, where he will play two of his most important albums - Young Mountain and Another Language.

This Will Destroy You defined the sound of modern instrumental music charged with emotions and a strong atmosphere. In more than twenty years on the scene, they released seven studio albums and significantly shaped the shape of the world's post-rock scene. Their music was also heard in films and series, for example Moneyball, World War Z and Foxcatcher.

Although they fundamentally influenced the form of contemporary post-rock – their legacy is felt in bands such as Caspian, We Lost the Sea and Oh Hiroshima – they themselves avoid genre labels. Their work moves between post-rock, ambient and doomgaz, emphasizing atmosphere, sound textures and slow emotional gradations.

The album Young Mountain (2006) and the self-titled This Will Destroy You (2008) belong to the classics of modern post-rock today. It is the songs from these recordings that will form the core of the Bratislava concert. They will return to Slovakia after many years and in excellent form, which they confirmed in this year's performance on the cult radio KEXP.

The This Will Destroy You concert, which will take place on August 11 in Bratislava's Randal Club (Karpatská 2), is part of the Nu Sound Of concert series. She has already brought significant names of the contemporary independent music scene to Slovakia, such as Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Zola Jesus, Forest Swords, The Soft Moon, Sun Kil Moon, Kristof Hahn, Oranssi Pazuzu or Emma Ruth Rundle and many others.
