About event
The Tribe will bring their mojo to Fat Mo’s for a night of fun and groovy African music on Sat May 31! Bring your dancin’ shoes and funky vibes, and let’s have an unforgettable experience.
The Tribe is: Pesshi Sabar [ZW] on vocals, Yotam Cohen [IL] on keys/bass, Berkay Şahin [TR] on electric guitar, and Jeff Joyner [US] on drums. They collectively formed The Tribe in 2025 with a shared vision of making bodies dance—bodies (and souls) of all nations, cultures, and backgrounds.
Pesshi is a Zimbabwean songbird whose Afro-jazz sound is shaped by the diverse cultures of Africa she has called home. A passionate singer and songwriter, she blends soulful melodies with rich African rhythms to tell stories that resonate across the globe.
Yotam Cohen is a pianist-composer from Israel, specializing in ragtime, jazz and brazilian music. He likes to play afro latin percussion, and brings in the harmony, bottom spanking, and groove as the band's keyboardist and bassist.
Berkay is a Turkish guitarist known for his eclectic style and cross-cultural sound. Influenced by both Turkish traditions and global guitar legends, he’s been a passionate performer in Budapest’s vibrant music scene for the past few years.
Jeff Joyner is drummer for the band, all the way from Ohio. His thirst for groovy music has led him into such diverse genres as African, Latin, psychedelic rock, indie, funk, soul, and hip hop. He’s also known as the singer, guitarist, songwriter, producer, and frontman of Budapest-based band The Serial Chillers.
