About event
The Bros. Landreth are two-time JUNO award winners from Winnipeg, known for their blend of guitar-driven, soulful roots music with harmonious vocals. The band, whose core consists of brothers Dave and Joey Landreth, has earned widespread praise and a loyal audience for their soulful songs, inventive musicianship and powerful performances. From their early days attending their father's gigs as babies, the brothers have played throughout their lives in rock clubs, theaters and music festivals across North America, Europe and Australia, including standout performances at the Byron Bay Blues Festival in Australia and Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in Los Angeles. In 2023, Joey and Dave became Grammy-winning songwriters when Bonnie Raitt's cover of their song "Made Up Mind" (from her first album Let it Lie) won the Grammy for Americana Performance of the Year. The recognition was a beautiful gesture from one of their musical heroes, as their own music draws inspiration from the familiar records of their childhood - Bonnie Raitt's blues, Little Feat's funky country-rock, Ry Cooder's eclectic instrumentals, Lyle Lovett's twangy traditionalism - culminating in a sound that honors the past while planting its flag in the present.
Bolstered by the energy of their recent live shows, The Bros. Landreth returned to the studio to record her fourth studio album “Dog Ear”, which will be released on November 14th. This record captures the spontaneous and collaborative spirit of her touring band, which includes drummer Roman Clarke and producer Murray Pulver, and marks a new, more effortless approach to songwriting. Describing the album as a deeply personal and emotionally moving work that explores themes of family and the search for stability in the nomadic life of a touring musician, the band say it is "about exploring what it means to be a constant force in the lives of the people you care about." is), keyboardist Glenn Patscha and powerful guest vocals from her long-time idol Bonnie Raitt, who can be heard on two tracks. Ultimately, the band hopes, "Maybe something on this record will stick in your head or take root in your heart... Maybe it will find its way into a useful little corner of your life, the way songs can sometimes do."
