In a mix of stories, readings, picture spots, eight protagonists of the GDR punk scene present their experiences as resistant punk women in the GDR, together with the author Geralf Pochop, a hitherto hardly processed piece of GDR history which Nancy, one of the 23 protagonists who have their say in the book are described as follows: "Being a punk in itself was a provocation. But walking around like that as a girl probably meant breaking a double taboo, something like a sacrilege in the GDR's real understanding of socialism."
The reading is accompanied musically by Annette Benjamin (HANS-A-PLAST), Cindy Weihnhold and Alena.
The 80s cult band then plays BÄRCHEN & THE MILK BUBIS and SYNCHRONOUS FLUCTUATION.
At the end of the seventies, Annette “Bärchen” Simons and a group of teenage “Milch Boys” began to make Hanover unsafe. With “Young broken saves old people’s homes” Bärchen and the Milchbubis delivered THE punk slogan of the time at the beginning of the 80s. The singer Annette Simons, along with Annette Benjamin (HANS-A-PLAST) and Nina Hagen, were among the most important feminist-inspired, rebellious punk musicians of the early 80s.
