About event
"Cars out of the city center?" Let's debate
The debate format Streit & Confidence from the ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS and Holtzbrinck Berlin is dedicated in the next round to a much-discussed question: should we ban cars in the city center? Our special guests from "Headliner" will bring live journalism to the stage: a unique reporter slam that you shouldn't miss!
More and more cities are experimenting with car-free zones to improve quality of life, climate protection and safety. But what does this mean for the local people? Do we really gain more space for encounters, culture and sustainable mobility through less car traffic - or do we lose flexibility and the attractiveness of the city centers for retail and restaurants? How can the different interests of residents, commuters, entrepreneurs and visitors be reconciled?
Join us as we explore the opportunities and challenges of car-free inner cities together, exchange arguments and discover new perspectives. No matter whether you already have a clear opinion or are still undecided - this evening offers space for doubts, new insights and lively discussion.
Come to the Heimathafen Neukölln on November 27th, debate with us and find out what the future of our cities could look like.
