Štefan Hrivňák: 200 rokov šumivého vína v Prešporku

The lecture will include the presentation of our new book entitled GOLDEN BUBBLES. 200 years of sparkling wine in Slovakia.

The book will be brought to life by Martin Hrubala, historian and director of the Small Carpathian Museum in Pezinok, together with its author and lecturer in one person, Štefan Hrivňák.

Štefan Hrivňák works as a curator of historical collections in the Bratislava City Museum. It is devoted to the history of viticulture and winemaking, but also to Bratislava families and personalities.

In 1825, two townspeople from Przemyśl, Johann Fischer and Michal Schönbauer, founded the first winery for the production of sparkling wines in Hungary. The 200-year-old tradition of sparkling wine production is associated with successes and failures, but it is remarkable that it still lasts in Slovakia. The oldest winery for the production of sparkling wines was later bought by the Hubert family from Prešpor. In the lecture, we will focus on the fates of its most important members, we will talk about various historical brands of sects, about competition, and production methods. We will also show advertisements and visuals with which the Hubert winery presented itself and addressed its customers.

A pezsgőkészítés 200 éves tradáða, noha sikerekkel és kudarcokkál tarkivatva is, még minát estáður Szlovákiában. A legrégebbi pincészeteket sekke a pozsonyi Hubert család közta fel.
