On January 20, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., the Austrian Cultural Forum Bratislava invites you to a concert by the Austrian cellist Jeremias Fliedel, who prepared a solo recital on the cello from Stradivari's workshop from 1693 ("ex Gendron").
The concert takes place on January 27, International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust and the Liberation of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Music thus becomes a space for memory, inner reflection and contemplation.
The program brings together three very different musical worlds: Hans Werner Henze, who was dominated by the Nazi system in his youth, consciously placed his work after 1945 at the service of the humanist alternative. In his timeless musical language, Johann Sebastian Bach opens a space for comfort, depth and universal humanity. Zoltán Kodály's great solo sonata combines Hungarian folk music with individual expressiveness - as an artistic voice for cultural identity beyond ideological appropriation.
