With their debut album Unity (2019), SPIRAL DRIVE first attracted attention across Europe.
Since then, the heart project of the German-Austrian band has grown Multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer Raphaël Neikes has developed into one of the most exciting and promising formations in the neo-psychedelic scene. The second album Visions in Bloom (2022), supported by the single “Space Train,” which was streamed millions of times, cemented this reputation. The long player combines psychedelic rock, alternative, psych-pop, grunge and indie into a dazzling oeuvre - and earned the band comparisons with artists such as Tame Impala, King Gizzard, Queens of the Stone Age, MGMT and Pink Floyd, without subordinating themselves to a single genre.
Together with collaborators such as Ben McLeod (All Them Witches) and Lord Fascinator (Children Collide) Neikes released creative impulses that are well received far beyond Central Europe and bring with them a constantly growing fan base in Great Britain, the USA and Australia. Another milestone was the cover of “Tomorrow Never Knows” (The Beatles) in 2024, which appeared with an original artwork by Klaus Voormann (The Beatles - Revolver) and also attracted attention outside the psych scene.
While current releases continue to attract international attention, Neikes is already working on two new studio albums: REISE is a Krautrock excursion that was created in an intensive week-long studio session with Lord Fascinator is. The Australian psych-pop artist is known for his work with Children Collide as well as his eccentric solo performances. Lord Fascinator and Neikes now have a close creative partnership, driven by their shared passion for cross-genre sound experiments and their narrative sound cosmos. TRAVEL is scheduled for release in April 2026. At the same time, Neikes is already working hard on a successor to “Visions in Bloom”, the release of which is scheduled for HJ2 2026.
After extensive tours through Europe and South Africa as well as a celebrated Rockpalast live set, SPIRAL DRIVE started their “Green Vanilla” headline tour in the first half of 2025 with 23 shows through a total of 7 countries, including the United Kingdom for the first time. Their performance at the New Cross Inn in London in June marked the long-awaited UK debut and fulfilled the hopes of their ever-growing British fanbase.
With their UK debut, SPIRAL DRIVE underline their international aspirations. A milestone that not only confirms the band's appeal, but also draws attention far beyond Europe towards North America and Australia.
With new music on the horizon and a reputation for immersive, cross-genre live shows, the band's upcoming chapter promises to be even bolder, more colorful and, above all, louder.
