Sonoma

Magical dance of a group of women on the border of dream and reality.

Choreographer Marcos Morau creates a captivating and magical atmosphere using movement, words, music and visual elements. Religion, folklore and mysticism are connected here in a scenic form. Sonoma is inspired by Luis Buñuel's surrealism. It is a kind of cry of a person who is trying to stay alive at the edge of his existence. Sonoma balances between dream, fiction and reality. A group of women wants to free themselves from the bonds of the past, cross the boundaries using their intuition and instinct. The inner cry that the women share gradually intensifies until it transforms into a celebratory ritual with sacrifices, hypnotic songs and dances. This state frees their minds, but also reminds them of their transience.

"If there is a heaven, it is here and now." - Luis Buñuel
