How can users be taught understanding and media literacy to better deal with algorithms, data protection, etc.?

This workshop is about the conscious Dealing with social media!

Many people do not understand how these tools work, what algorithms do and how they can protect their data.

We examine these topics and develop concrete solutions together and sharpen existing ideas that support users in enabling an informed and conscioususe of social media.

We are looking for doers who want to implement these ideas.

Our goal: to develop ideas and support initiatives that help as many different people as possible to use social media consciously and healthily.

Key topics:

• Media Literacy: How do fact checks work? How do I read and understand different opinions? How do I effectively deal with disinformation?
• Algorithms: Why do I see what I see? How can I consciously control my feed and my “filter bubble”?
• Privacy: What happens to my data? What traces do I leave behind online and how can I better protect my privacy?
