On May 9, Russia commemorates Victory over Nazism Day. Vladimir Putin's regime has been abusing this historical reference for a long time to spread propaganda and justify its own aggression.
However, we cannot be fooled. We will remind Russia of his crimes.
On Saturday, May 9, we will meet in front of the Russian Embassy in Bratislava. We will carry portraits of Russian war criminals - people responsible for murders of civilians, bombing of cities, torture, deportation of children and other atrocities committed in Ukraine.
We will read the names of the perpetrators and remember the crimes for which they are responsible. Part of the event will also be the symbolic sprinkling of portraits with blood (paint) as a reminder of the blood of innocent victims of Russian aggression. "The Immortal Regiment".
We want to say clearly:
The heroism of the generation that defeated Nazism cannot be misused to justify today's war crimes. Because Russia does not bring liberation today. It brings death, occupation and destruction.
