Smote is the originally solo project of guitarist and composer Daniel Foggin, who is growing for a slightly megalomaniac band for the current tour. It will present in particular the last album and Grand Stream, which brings in Foggin's work a breakthrough. While older recordings are betting on the moment of bliss of classical psychedelia with rural folk influences - an alternative soundtrack on The Wicker Man - last year's album represents a colossal sound with darker undertones. Smote, however, are considerably less fierce and on the way to the ecstasy listeners meet. The violin or more obscure stringed instruments remind on the colorful pits of Vibracathedral orchestra, but in a less flowing form, rolling, monumental riffs again at Godspeed You! Black Emperor after Reunion. The main deposit of Smote is eventually intensity while maintaining color sound. In this melting cauldron, it is no longer clear whether the sounds of Scotland, Rajastan or the Appalachian Mountains are the key, their psychedelic cocktail reliably leads to ecstasy.
Wigwam crosses scenes, contexts and slowly generations, but it turned out to be extremely functional. Anna Ruth is primarily an artist who moves on the border of abstract and figural paintings, and liminality defines her music. Vocal and synth loops and specific sounds consist of indeterminate ambient narratives that will never take breath. Similarly, the music of Martin Sýkora, one of the secret treasures from the scene around the Klangundkrach team, can be characterized. Its instrument is a modular synthesizer, which forms a smooth drone and spider rhythms, at the same time temptingly alien and somewhat familiar, with non -violent and non -trivial psychedelic dimension. Both also have a gift for collaboration (with Rouilleux, or the cult of masks and formerly Vojtěch Havel), in which in their case a kind of "third mind" actually works. Mysterious, atavistic rhythms and melodies of their only living performance so far could be described as pagan house.
