About event
The third part of the discussion series will focus on how queer people live in Slovakia and how we can talk sensitively and respectfully with and about each other.
Guests: Roman Samotný and Nora Barcziová
Eleonóra (Nora) Barcziová is the author of the web concept wwww.duhovykompas.sk, co-author of the book Let's talk about ourselves with respect and co-founder and member of the project Ide nam o život. He is professionally engaged in coaching and HR consulting for small companies.
Roman Samotný is an editor, screenwriter and playwright. He is the creator of the Tepláreň community platform and the Queer Slovakia platform, which since 2012 have been creating a safe space for LGBTI+ people and their families and organizing educational, cultural and community events. He is a member of the civic association Inicatíva Inakosť, which is dedicated to the equal rights and inclusion of LGBTI+ people in Slovak society.
The discussion project Word Connections seeks answers to the questions of how to use language not to harm, but to bring people together, how language stereotypes affect mutual perception, and what barriers language can represent in everyday life for people who are not its "typical users". The guests of linguist Lucie Molnár Satinská will be representatives of various organizations that deal with the issues of minorities or vulnerable population groups, as well as representatives of various communities or social "bubbles". The goal of the discussions is to get to know the various communities that make up Slovak society better, and to formulate specific recommendations on how to communicate about yourself and each other with respect.
Tickets:
€5 in advance at GoOut.
€7 on the spot (€5 students and seniors)
We look forward to seeing you!
