Slovenské národné povstanie a Európa v zbrani proti fašizmu

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising, the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising, together with its partners, organizes an international scientific conference focused on the international, national and regional contexts of this most significant military action in modern Slovak history, forming an inseparable integral part of the story of anti-fascist resistance in Europe during the Second World War. The goal of the conference is to provide new knowledge about the preparations and progress of the SNP, to identify its place in the international resistance movement, to compare the common and different features of the resistance currents at home and abroad, to point out their coordination on a transnational scale, as well as to analyze the formative aspects of development in the rebel territory (policy , society, army, everyday life).

The partners of the event are the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising, the Military Historical Institute, the Institute of National Memory,
The Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations of the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica and Slovak Historical Society at the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
