About event
Performative feast, which will be led by ASLI HATIPOLLU (TR/TH), Heidi Hornáčková (CZ) and Suuraia Abud (LB/UY). The work draws inspiration from Ayurvedic principles, common cooking and modeling processes and invites participants to intimate exchange: modeling, feeding yourself and all of each other, as a gesture of care that goes beyond conventional forms of dining. Through sensory involvement and collective participation of performances, it examines the invisible imprints that people leave each other - by touching, eating, through a ritual in the process of creation. The common meal becomes a ritual of dissolution - what will remain after him and what is absorbed? How does the food form not only the body but also the memory that it carries?
In the environment of an old sculptural studio, this performance based on food takes place through a number of sensory meetings. Each station invites participants to engage in a different way of transforming ingredients - touch, heat, fermentation, dissolution or air. Cooking becomes a gesture of balance that shapes tastes as well as the body itself. The performance is also intimate and collective at the same time - it is a space where nutrition not only consumes, but also exchanges where food becomes a means of connection, memories and transformation. Hatipoğlu (which will be in place and will perform a performative feast) spent a two -week residence in South Bohemia in the autumn of 2024. Is it a creative design that invites the viewer to the emotional journey through the landscape, food and experiences experienced during the autumn in this South Bohemian village. Is it a relationship that feeds us?
Performative feast will take place in English.
