ŠKOLA ZÁKLAD ŽIVOTA

"What is happiness? The fly just gold!" "Now I will show you how the poet becomes a dwarf." "I ate a couple of poor taste and I didn't get off." "Ich Habe Gesagt!" These truly cult messages come from - as all the worshipers of Czech film classics know well - from the legendary film by Martin Frič "School of Life". The less known is that the film screenplay was created on the basis of a theater comedy written by Jaroslav Žák at the call of E. F. Burian. And he was based on his own humoristic prose by students and teachers, who enjoyed extraordinary response to period readers. And so today it can be said that the pupil's unique characters "students" and "cantors" - as well as the author's kind ironic vision of the school as a sports match - are rightly immortal. Indeed, it can be said that as long as there is a school, they will pay brilliant and deeply funny pupils' observations about her. The pupil's theater version also became the basis of Hana Burešová's adaptation; In addition, the popular songs of the 1930s are included in it. Typical school situations are viewed with humor and exaggeration, depicting the "eternal struggle" of students and cantors, among which we recognize the familiar types and characters of the environment not only school but at all.
