Sigur Rós & Český národní symfonický orchestr

Icelandic Sigur Rós will play two concerts with a symphony orchestra in Prague

Smooth and lingering music from frosty Iceland interwoven with frontman Jónsí's soft falsetto will return to the Czech Republic after three years. The giants Sigur Rós will play two concerts in the Prague Congress Center on September 3 and 4, 2025, accompanied by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.

Thirty years have passed this year since the release of the first album, the last record of the band called ATTA was released last year and was well received by critics and fans alike. Sigur Rós now operates with a line-up that has settled on three core members, namely Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson, Georg "Goggi" Hólm and Kjartan "Kjarri" Sveinsson, who returned to the band years ago. The band's upcoming tour is unique in some respects. Sigur Rós will play songs from the new album, as well as a cross-section of their older work, all accompanied by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. The fusion of Icelandic melancholy with an orchestral arrangement will bring an unusual experience for all music fans.
