The classic piano started studying at five, but in eight recordings of Oscar Peterson and Keith Jarrett, he was so excited that he began to expand the horizon with another genre. The Thelma-Yellin conservatory in Givataim, Israel, followed the Jerusalem Music Academy and a study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. Shai Maestro contributed with his sound, compositional talent and virtuosity to the essential Cohen's album Gently Disturbed (2008), Aurora (2009) and Seven (2011) and accompanied the bassist on a number of concert tour. As Sideman, Shaie invited Ben Wendel, Oded Tzur, Ari Hoenig and Theo Bleckmann, and also played in the duo with Chris Potter. Above all, however, since 2010 has been leading its own trio, occasionally extended by guests. His recordings were also involved in the famous American singer Gretchen Parlato (album The Stone Skipper, 2016). And before, as we know thanks to the MFJP, he devoted himself to the royal discipline of solo jazz piano.
