Šest na pětce: Krása Quartet

Krása Quartet, founded at the Prague Conservatory in 2012 in the class of Tomáš Strašil and named after the Czech Jewish composer Hans Krása. He is the holder of the 2nd prize in the competition of the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation and the prize for an excellent performance of a composition by Viktor Kalabis. The quartet performed at the international festivals Mladá Praha, Mladé pódium and the Jarmila Novotná festival, whose concerts were broadcast by Czech Radio. In 2015, the quartet was a guest at the international Bodenseefestival and at the same time took part in the Pavel Haas Quartet courses in Feldkirch, Austria. In autumn 2021, the ensemble took part in Reiner Schmidt's (Hagen Quartet) masterclass.

The second concert of the series will commemorate the anniversary of the tragic death of the Terezín composers. The program will include works by Gideon Klein, Hans Krása and Viktor Ulmann. These composers are united by their Jewish origin, musical talent, stay in a concentration camp during World War II and the year their lives were involuntarily ended.
