Tower Part 1
Selmeci Cube Jusko

Opening of the exhibition: 17. 9. 2025/18.00 hrs
Exhibition Duration: 18. 9. It is one of the cycle of three simultaneous exhibitions. The second part is presented in Vun Košice and the last one in the Hunt Kastner Gallery in Prague.

The exhibition follows the long -term interest of the authors in the motif of the container. Containers such as bags - a tool for carrying things, as a means of transmitting information or, vice versa as a mailbox to store, hiding or dwelling, where home is just another larger pocket, a container for humans. In the context of small and animal architecture, it develops thinking about forms of housing, coexistence, vulnerability and control mechanisms.

Selmeci cube Jusko (Alex Selmeci and Tomáš Kocka Jusko) work as an artistic couple. They examine the relationship between visual representation, memory and perception, using experimental approaches to the exhibition space structure. They create complex intermediate installations or, on the contrary, present sets of physical objects that function as energy capsules. In their practice, they often use soft repair technologies and makeshift structures, emphasizing the permeability instead of closing. They experiment with measurement systems and intuitive methods they examine how time, scale and quantity can be embodied in material form. Their work is also devoted to the relationship between work, exhaustion and imagination, and they perceive artistic practice not only as a form of production, but also as a modest utopian gesture of attention and empathy. Through the strategies of slowness and retreat of Selmec and the cube Jusko, they consider forms of resistance to acceleration and overwhelm, imagining post-working scenarios and the possibilities of ecological regeneration. The project was also supported by the City of Košice and the Košice Self-Governing Region. The Second Part is pre-presented at Vun Košice, and the Last One At Hunt Kastner Gallery in Prague. Containers as Bags - Tools for Carrying Things, As Means for Transmitting Information, or Conversels as Cases for Storing, Hiding, OR DWELLING, WHERE HOME IS JUST ANOTHER LERAGER POCKET, A CONTAINER FOR PEOPLE.
