Sean Koch is a Cape Town-based indie folk artist. In his storytelling, feel-good music, he combines African and Western influences with messages of home, connection to nature, the sea and the people around him.
Although rooted in his flowing folk style, his Music diverse. From dance-infused songs like "Lift You Up," the standout single from his collection (including the Double MZK & G DOM remix), to dreamier songs like "Feel the Energy," which convey deeper messages of connection to the natural world and the transported to the people around us. There's something for everyone in Sean's catalog.
On stage Sean has hosted acts such as Xavier Rudd (AUS), Milky Chance (DE), Sticky Fingers (AUS), Will & the People (UK), A-ha (Norway) and Mat McHugh / Beautiful Girls (AUS) supported and performed at renowned festivals (Reeperbahn Festival (DE), Sziget (HG), Pangea (DE), Sound of the Forest (DE)).
Sean has developed a strong following in Europe, particularly in the GSA areas. In October 2023, he completed his sixth European tour alongside his bandmates Adrian Fowler, Ross Hillier and Dean Bailey, which included several sold-out performances. It was called the "Subtle Affection" tour and was carried out in support of Sean's second album of the same name. This contains a diverse selection of infectious, upbeat melodies and reduced, very intimate songs in an acoustic style.
Currently working The band is hard at work on new material in South Africa and is ready for the European summer and fall concerts!
