About event
The second Prague concert will feature music from the fascinating wealth of the Dresden instrumental music collection stored during Jan Dismas Zelenka's tenure in the so-called Skřín II – Schrank II. A concert with virtuoso works by Vivaldi, Veracini and Pisendel was prepared by the Spanish violinist Javier Lupiáñez with his Scaramuccia Ensemble.
The central figure and author of the collection of instrumental music known as Schrank II after its storage location in the Dresden court, was one of the most famous violinists of the 18th century. Johann Georg Pisendel. This concert master of the Dresden court orchestra and Zelenka's closest friend and colleague also had intense friendships and professional ties with Vivaldi, Telemann and Bach. The program was prepared by the Spanish violin virtuoso Javier Lupiáñez, who has long and systematically devoted himself to the gradual discovery of hitherto unknown and hidden wealth from the treasury called Schrank II.
