The Brno SIST choir maintains a long-standing tradition of popular pre-Christmas concerts with the procession of St. Lucia, exactly as it is customary in Sweden. And this year they will also visit Prague again!

On Thursday, December 12, a procession bringing light to the dark pre-Christmas days will come to the basilica of the Strahov Monastery.
Get ready for the mysterious atmosphere of a winter evening, enhanced by the light of candles and beautiful (not only) Nordic music. The whole concert will be in the spirit of celebrating the feast of St. Lucia. The choir will perform songs celebrating Lucia, but also Swedish Christmas songs.

WARNING! Admission is free, but you need to reserve a place by email to rsvp.prag@gov.se. The capacity of places is limited.

Swedish choir SIST was founded in the spring of 2009 under the leadership of musicology student Kateřina Rašík in the course "Swedish in songs" at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University.
Members are primarily students who have completed at least one semester of Swedish. The choir is occasionally accompanied by keyboards, flute, violin, clarinet or other instruments. The choir also performed repeatedly at IKEA and Avion department store events, in addition to participating in the traditional celebration of Saint Lucy's Day organized by the Nordic Society, in a chamber version at the Swedish Embassy in Prague, and also performed at Midsommarfest (summer solstice celebration) in Brno.
