About event
Josef Dvořák weaves his way through the chess game of the powerful...
When the play S Pydla v zéché premiered at Semafor on June 4, 1981, no one knew that a theater legend had just been born, who would "take up residence" in Josef Dvořák's repertoire for decades. And this despite the fact that the theater people waved goodbye to her several times and planned spectacular derniers. In short, this game has a solid root and has found its way back to the stage every time.
Why do so many people enjoy watching one "simple smart" try to navigate the chess game of the powerful? Perhaps because Josef Dvořák played a clown concert here, in which Beckett's absurdity meets Hague humor. It's a cocktail that just works.
The main character is actually suspiciously close to us. The eternal effort to adapt, to get the most out of every situation and to maintain the appearance that everything is in perfect order, even when the world around us is collapsing a little - do you recognize yourself in this? It is our common mirror. Maybe it's a little crooked, but that's why you'll see all our human efforts much more clearly in it. Come and see a piece that proves that if a person learns to look at his own troubles with humor, he can survive absolutely everything.
Starring: Josef Dvořák, Markéta Hrubešová, Rostislav Trtík, Jiří Veit, Zuzana Burdová / Dagmar Schlehrová
Authors: Pavel Fiala, Josef Dvořák
Directors: Pavel Fiala, Josef Dvořák
