About event
Parents, how can you spend meaningful time with your teenager?
Event for families
We look "up close" at what is not usually discussed in children's theater. We all tend to overlook problems related to old age and aging. Maybe we think that if we keep quiet about them, they won't exist.
Let's not be afraid to talk to children about unpleasant things, of course sensitively, in a language they understand. The theater is a place of meetings, a place of stories and lessons from them.
Hands the size of a walnut is a beautiful, touching and fragile story about the relationship between a grandmother and a granddaughter. The life of Tamarka and her Grandmother is full of humor, jokes, games and food from the world's inventions. Everything is sweet and fragrant. Until one day an unexpected guest arrives. Mrs. Dementia takes up residence in Grandma's head and suddenly everything is reversed. No one knows how to proceed. But Tamarka is a smart and sensitive child. She manages to find a way to not lose closeness with the confused Babka.
Chill & Talk
We discuss the production and dementia with Mgr. Simona Blažková DiS.art from ZSS Svetlo Olichov and with actress Vanesa Balla Hagyungová.
The project was supported from public funds by the Art Support Fund.
Hands the size of walnuts are a story that many families live. The story is rarely authentic. It was written by Croatian director Tamara Kučinović. It is exceptional in that it brings not only Tamara's personal experience, sensitivity and memories, but also guidance on how to deal with the very difficult situation when one family member becomes ill with dementia. It is a story for children but also for adults.
