About event
Respect Festival 2026 offers artists from Africa, Asia, international projects and, for the first time ever, music from Madagascar and Cape Verde!
Respect Festival Open Air 2026 will take place on June 13-14 on Štvanice Island in Prague. This year's program of Prague's most important festival of global music has a wide range — from authentic roots from African villages to contemporary fusions, created on the basis of artistic vision, not production routines. The festival is dedicated to Karl Schwarzenberg, who was at its birth. The creator of this year's visual is again František Skála.
MAIN PROGRAM:
MARIO LUCIO & THE PAN AFRICAN BAND (Cape Verde) - From the melting pot back to the roots
THE ZAWOSE QUEENS (Tanzania) - Captivating vocal harmonies, dynamic polyrhythms and the ringing tone of ilimba
BOBO & BEHAJA (Madagascar, France) - Frenetic trance from Madagascar
ODD OKODDO & OGOYA NENGO (Kenya, Germany) - Last living icon of traditional "dodo" chants from Lake Victoria combined with experimental electronics
GUITARI BARO (Guinea, Mali) - Delicate conversation of African guitars and balafon
ARAW N FAZAZ (Morocco) - Unknown music of Morocco
MERAL POLAT (Netherlands, USA) - The star of Respect Festival 2023 returns with a new formation and current album Meydan (2025)!
WASSIM HALAL, AMZA TAIROV & GABRIEL VALTCHEV (Lebanon/France, Macedonia, Bulgaria) - After the breathtaking performances of Revolutionary Birds and Polyphème-Gamelan Puspawarma, Wassim Halal returns to Respect for the third time, this time with a brand new project!!
MUSLIM SHAGGAN (Pakistan) - Five centuries of Indo-Pakistani vocal tradition
