About event
Come to HW Lab on Saturday 9/11 to repair your electronics, toys, textiles or household items!
Repair Café is an event where together with seasoned masters we will repair things that would otherwise end up in collection yard, landfill, or they would remain forever in the basement or at the bottom of a drawer.
Experienced repairmen will be waiting for you in the HW Lab, who will repair you they will perform - that is, we do not take things to Repair Café to be repaired as in a repair shop, but we are involved in repairing things together.
In this way, we get direct experience of whether things can or cannot be repaired, what is and what is not safe to repair yourself, what are the typical problems with a particular appliance or thing, and what are the different possible ways to fix them.
In the repair of things, we will of course also include technologies available in the HW Lab, such as a 3D scanner and 3D printers or a laser for the production of spare parts and prostheses.
By DIY repair, we extend our engineering knowledge while extending the life of consumer goods, a key aspect of the circular economy. As part of the event, there is also a home treat, with which you can either reward the master for his help, or just grab a bite if you get hungry during the repair.
The event is free and the refreshments are for a voluntary contribution.
