Rádio Ivo: Život nedoceníš (CZ) Bratislava

WE CELEBRATE 20 YEARS AND NO ONE CARES

Rádio Ivo was created as an experiment with the aim of transferring a radio play to the theater stage without any prior adaptation or written text. Spectators have the opportunity to watch its creation with their own eyes. The performance Život nedočeš, directed by Romana Bohunská, is another reprise of this concept with a new theme. The production is characterized by civil acting, sound realism and a calmly flowing pace. It brings ordinary stories from life, in which clumsy actors give a relatively confident performance.

Since 2006, Rádio Ivo has played more than 150 completely improvised radio plays, either in theaters or live on the radio (Vltava, Radio 1, Radio Wave, Slovak Radio). For a studio play Would you have twenty minutes? won the Prix Bohemia international radio award in 2009. An exception to their usual format of full-length stories was the short play Spirit of the Age, prepared for the Vltava station's Cabaret show.

Rádio Ivo also cooperates with other artists. This is how, for example, the play 100 years live, presented on Slovak Radio in cooperation with the Gasperego Theater, as well as a performance with actors from the Theater in Dlouhé and other guests (Aňa Geislerová, Marek Daniel, Ventolin, Zuzana Fuksová, Robert Mikluš, James Cole, Michal Pěchouček, Tomáš Jeřábek, Prokop Holoubek, Madla Bažantová, František Škanta) came about. A special project was a joint performance with the SkRAT Theater and the guest Aňa Geislerová Shadows of Doubt, which is part of the repertoire of the Bratislava scene A4 - the space of contemporary culture. All shows have been recorded for some time now.

Most of the recordings can be listened to or downloaded on the SoundCloud and Uloz.to platforms, or on the pages and podcasts of Czech Radio Radio Wave on Spotify, where Rádio Ivo regularly performed. Stylized mystifying accompanying texts were also part of these games. Other permanent or regular scenes include Studio Heroes, MeetFactory, Kavárna Praha, Kabinet múz or Vzlet. Since 2025, Rádio Ivo has been a guest ensemble at the Zábradlí Theater.

The acting trio consists of members of Czech alternative theater groups. Petr Marek works in the improvisation group Decadent Theater Beruška and Cabaret Československo. He is a member of the musical projects Midi Lidi, Monikino Kino, Muzikant Králíček and Kakaduo. At the same time, he is a film director (the films Láska shora, Nebýt žečine, Nic proti ničemu and video clips for Ventolin, Načeva and Midi Lidi), author of the radio mystery talk show Adult Evening and actor and director of the radio play ABBA - Scenes from Married Life. He is also a guest at Vosto5 and Studio Ypsilon theaters and occasionally does stand-up. Johana Ožvold (formerly Švarcová) comes from the Dno Theater in Králové Hradec. She was a member of the music group Kazety, she is the author of radio plays, a film actress (Nic proti ničemu, The Greatest of the Czechs) and the director of the film The Sound Is Innocent. He also moderates occasionally. Together with Peter Marko, they sometimes perform as a DJ duo and at the same time as a comic duo called the Brückner Brothers. Marian Moštík was a member of the improvisational theater V Soukolí, performed in the HaDivadla in Brno, the SkRAT Theater in Bratislava, and also starred in several films (Nothing Against Nothing, Journey to Rome). All three are also performing in the collective "all-stars" project of the Moravian improvisational theaters LÁHOR / Soundsystem.
