Rachel Portman - Malý princ

The children's musical-dramatic work with the subtitle "magical opera" is the setting to music of the most important fairy tale of modern literature, the timeless book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry from 1943. This two-act work was born from the pen of the British composer Rachel Portman, an award-winning author especially in the genre of film music.

It depicts the story of a pilot (the author himself writer), who gets stuck with his crashed plane in the Sahara desert during the war. Here he meets the Little Prince, who came from a distant planet. He begins to have a conversation with him about the meaning of life, about friendship and love, about pride and humility. There are many metaphors and similes in the work, which can fill a child's soul and impress even adults with their similes. The work will be presented in the Slovak premiere.
