PROREŽIMOVÝ / PROTIREŽIMOVÝ HUMOR (1939 – 1989) - Konferencia

Humor accompanied society even in difficult times, when laughter could be dangerous. He did not avoid the period from 1939 to 1989, when fundamental political, social and cultural changes affected Slovakia and its inhabitants. In these decades, humor became a space for human creativity and civil resistance, but also for various forms of criticism, defiance, escape strategies, adaptation or active collaboration with power. The conference will focus on humor as part of cultural, social and political life, as well as its relationship to power, ideology and repressive mechanisms.
